bought some new tights today at selfridges! house of holland x pretty polly The OTK.
i went to SHOWstudio FASHION REVOLUTION the other day.
i got lost on the way to class. i walked 20 minutes in the wrong direction, so i ended up being tired, frustrated and 45 minutes late to the Coultard Museum where we were meeting. i have no idea why i was late or lost, i have been to somerset house before (...fashion week, brit.)
anyway, my class was gone and i was too upset to look at any paintings at that point, so i walked through the courtyard at somerset house and down to the ground level entryway where there was a big portrait of naomi campbell holding a gun. fitting. it cost me four pounds to get in and made my day a LOT better. i forgot my camera, though, so i'm going back there on saturday (i'm also going to ORIGIN, so i'll get a discount voucher for attending that...) anyway, i ended up sitting in the fashion film room for a while because it was really relaxing and, well, the short films were incredible.
the gareth pugh one that i posted on the 14th is my favorite, but this was interesting and fun:
here's a short on it:
WHATS IN VOGUE?
TIM WALKER, PART OF MOVING FASHION, 2005
Moving Fashion commissioned leading fashion figures to create video shorts investigating the representation of clothing through movement - perhaps the last great challenge in fashion image-making. Photographer Tim Walker's offering references those halycon post-war days when the magazine was king in a fantastic and fantastical take on trompe l'oeil.
my favorite ones are gareth pugh's, though.
