I had a wonderful night with everyone from work last night... Anne took us out to the SoHo hotel for dinner + drinks for Amelia's birthday. We spotted Cesar Millan on the corner of one of the streets and forced him to take a picture with us. it was awkward and hilarious and if you don't know who cesar millan is, he's the f'ing dog whisperer. x

photos from the launch party finally showed up at the agency! here are a few:

a gift from anne's friend, casey. from the robotkid store opening in london x

the ronen chen store opening party was SO amazing. i had a great time working it with everyone and it's so sad to know that i'll be leaving in just a few weeks. i know that london is a place that i want to, and can, go back to. i love it here...
the party was packed and such a huge success! there were designers and some celebs, as well. but besides all of that i truly just enjoyed the final product of so many weeks of work out of anne amelia and everyone else and i'm proud to be a part of it all. after the launch we all headed to maddox - a club in london - and drank and danced. gerard butler was there and i was able to be a creep and brush by him...twice. haha! oh well.

jeanna bean with her henna from cairo... got a few stares.

a few weekends ago i got to see one of my best friends, jeanna, in amsterdam. it was such a good time, though it was FREEZING in holland the weekend we were there. i think it'd be a difficult task to NOT have fun in amsterdam, but i won't go into detail about the trip.

anne bought me these jimmy choo x h&m the other day, they're amazing! i cried.

i was sitting in the living room today with my roommate caley and she said something about believing in fairies... and we laughed and i remembered my pressed fairy book. i re-found it just before i left for london and sometimes i wish i had it with me because it's so pretty, bizarre and interesting. i'm not sure who gave it to me... probably my mom, but i'm glad she did! it's angelica cottingham's personal journal/flower pressing book for almost her entire life. anyway, it's wonderful.

13th Jan 1903.

Today is my fifteenth birthday. I am grown-up at last. Mamma and Pappa invited me to have supper with them. It felt very strange. Mamma gave me a toasting fork and a pair of white gloves. Governess gave me a copy of The Household Compendium- an invaluable guide to all householders- and so of little interest to me. Cousin Nicholas gave me a photographic camera.

As I was getting into bed, I noticed a small fairy sitting under the wardrobe. It was crying. I bent down and picked it up! It was so upset it hardly seemed to notice or care. I set it down on the washstand and examined it. One wing appeared to be broken. It had little marks on its dress and its wand was bent.

"What's the matter?" I asked. But it just went on sobbing its heart out. This was the first time I had ever spoken to a fairy, so I said: "What is your name?" It looked up at me for a moment and then mumbled something like: "Pipskintinkle." But I couldn't get another word out of it. So I got out my flower pressing book and SNAP! I got it.

i'm back from italy.

the first day i ended up walking up to piazza san michelangelo which made me want to die a little... so many stairs! afterwards, i drank some vino with some really great people from the hostel i was staying at - the b&b maison. you HAVE TO STAY THERE WHEN YOU GO TO FLORENCE. they make breakfast and dinner every day. i felt like i was staying at an old friends house, it was wonderful and felt really great - since i was staying there alone. i met some really great people that i think i'll be friends with for a long time after this, or i hope.

doesn't ponte vecchio remind you of the movie Perfume? -- not this side in particular, but...

anyway, a lot of the time i spent just aimlessly wandering around florence and happening upon the historic sites - the duomo, statue of david, the monk perfumery, ponte vecchio, etc... and certain days i took day trips to different cities -

pisa (the leaning tower - HELLO) and san giminorno.

san giminano was beautiful, and i got to taste the worlds best gelato! literally, it was the worlds best. and it tasted SO GOOD.

i didn't buy much - just a pair of leather driving gloves, perfume and a chunk of amethyst from san giminano.

oh, and if you ever end up going to flo... DO NOT skip seeing the statue of david. it is actually an emotional experience that i was not expecting. honest! :)
